Fee-for-Service Advantages
Many people do not understand what is means to receive counseling or mental health services. To have therapy services covered under insurance, you have to have a mental health diagnosis. Once you have a mental health diagnosis, this becomes a part of your permanent health care record. This leads to limitations you may not understand, such as denial for quality life insurance. Additionally, since you have a mental health diagnosis, the insurance company has to know a lot of information about you to be covered. Many people throughout the insurance company may see your diagnosis, treatment plan and case notes which contain a great deal of information about you and your family. I choose to provide fee-for-service to clients.
