Gina Daniels, MS - Picture from McDonald's Studio Since 1994 Gina has worked with children and families in a variety of settings. Gina began her career working in youth ministry and secure juvenile detention. She built on her career in 2000, earning her Master's degree and license in School Counseling (K-12). As she reflected on what she enjoyed most about working with children and famlies, she decided to go back to school in 2008 to become a therapist, focusing her time with clients on healing to attain their goals. In April of 2010, Gina earned her certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Mary's University of Minnesota. During her studies at St. Mary's, she added Play Therapy courses and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) training. Gina is working toward her license to become a Marriage and Family Therapist and Registered Play Therapist. For the past year, Gina has spent time as a therapist intern and therapist at the St. Cloud Children's Home. Gina's supervisor for Marriage and Family is Becky Coulter, LMFT. Becky is a therapist at St. Cloud Children's Home and is approved by the Minnesota Board of Marriage and Family Therapy.
I understand that you would rather not be here talking to a stranger. Wanting to solve problems on your own (or as a couple/family) and keeping matters private, is something I respect about you. As your therapist I want to keep you safe and honor your fears and doubts. In our time together I will focus on your strengths and the things that are working right. As partners in this process I will be there for you (and the family) as you generate new solutions, gain a deeper understanding of your relationships, and develop your goals. Some of my clients have enjoyed working with a variety materials to express their ideas in therapy, using sand trays, miniatures, art supplies, play materials, music, and other forms of media. Using new ways of ways expressions may help family members, couples, or individuals, see things from a whole new vantage point. Let’s see what works for you and and feels right. You get to decide. As a natural process of child development, children use toys and play to communicate their thoughts and feelings. I will help you to develop your listening ear within these important relationships, while giving you my own undivided attention and compassion. Let’s meet to see if you want to take the next step in moving life forward.
